aggravation as opportunity (50:15)
Updated: Sep 26
We routinely believe we are aggravated by the conduct of others. Ask though - how does someone else's conduct actually get under our skin? How can their conduct physically cause us emotional pain? By what mechanism is that even possible?
Here I argue that it's an illusion played on us by our own mind. (Byron Katie helped me believe this truth, though I still have a ways to go in terms of implementation & consistency.) The aggravation is actually the result of our own self repression, & the other person's "aggravating" conduct is a blessing drawing our attention to our repressive pattern within. I walk through that dynamic, then zoom out to the divine perspective to show how this repressive dynamic fits within the larger scheme of healing kinks & blockages in the filament of our spirits.
