I often experience anxiety and confusion around the process of making choices. Usually it's simply the struggle to choose between options. Sometimes this struggle is compounded by philosophical/existential confusion over how choices are made, whether choice is real, who is really choosing, etc. This sucks energy & attention away from the actual choicemaking process, which leads to worse choices and unpleasant experiences.
Here I provide some practical tips on how to make choosing less stressful and more productive, including dropping the "choice" framing altogether.
