the albatross & the hummingbird (17:52)

Imagine the word "now" uttered a single time, spanning the entirety of time. Imagine a similar "now" spanning your birth to death. Like an albatross gliding above the sea of time, in no hurry to touch the surface. This is the aperture of awareness. Imagine amidst this a hummingbird darting freneticly between an imagined past, imagined future, & imagined alternate now. It pours its energy into anything but the unbroken now. This is the dance of attention. In this video I explore the interplay of these dynamics, situate them in evolutionary & divine contexts, & propose a norm inversion to promote flourishing.
